Synopsis:

Dive into the archive and explore this rare and intimate 1978 profile of Nobel-Prize winning author Toni Morrison. Originally airing shortly after the publication of Morrison’s third novel, Song of Solomon, this program features candid interviews with the author as well as Morrison reading extended excerpts from her first three novels.

About Toni Morrison:

Toni Morrison is an award-winning novelist, essayist, editor, teacher and professor. She won the Pulitzer Prize and American Book Award in 1988 for Beloved, which was adapted into a film starring Oprah and Danny Glover in 1998. Some other notable awards in her career include the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.
