What to Stream: Outdoor concerts, fireworks, public art and more

The ALL ARTS broadcast channel and streaming app have plenty of arts-related shows and films to choose from, including original productions and archival content. This week, we’ve rounded up our favorite outdoor episodes.

As always, you can watch the following list of features online, or on the ALL ARTS app on Roku and anywhere else you stream at no cost.

Siah Armajani: “Bridge Over Tree”

This episode of NYC-ARTS features a profile on Siah Armajani’s “Bridge Over Tree.” Now on display at Brooklyn Bridge Park on the Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn through Sept. 29, the public art installation was shown briefly at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the current re-staging of the seminal work marks the first time in nearly 50 years that the piece has been on display. Clocking in at 91-feet-long, the bridge was reconstructed by Armajani for the Public Art Fund.

“In an era obsessed with walls and fences, the bridge-building public work of this Iranian exile is perhaps even more urgent now than when first conceived in 1970,” Public Art Fund’s Nicholas Baume said in an announcement. “Newly sited in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bridge Over Tree becomes part of the urban landscape, creating a space for reflection, engagement and interaction at the convergence of two of our city’s most iconic bridges.”

Handel: Royal Fireworks at Chambord Castle

Fireworks? Handel? A perfect pair! This ALL ARTS Performance Selects program features a summer concert set on the lawn of the 16th-century French Renaissance chateau, Chambord, Castle. Handel’s “Water Music” and “Music for the Royal Fireworks” provide the soundtrack to this outdoor spectacle.

Peter Grimes on Aldeburgh Beach

Take a trip to the quiet coastal town at the heart of Benjamin Britten’s tumultuous opera, “Peter Grimes.” In this special open-air production, the tragic tale comes to life on the beaches of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, London.
